What a great weekend for the Sunnybrae Community Hall this weekend!
Improv Comedy Pub Night – Saturday 9th June

We had a superb turnout for “The Radical”: an improv comedy troupe from Vancouver, who traveled up to make their Shuswap debut on Sat 9th June. As a collaboration between the Sunnybrae Community Association and the Arts Council for the South Shuswap, The Radical delivered a hilarious and high energy two-part show, encouraging and drawing a huge amount of spontaneous content from the audience’s participation. A licensed bar featured beer & local wine from Sunnybrae Vineyards & Winery, with prizes dished out to the participating audience from the Tappen Co-op and Sprockets Coffee.
A huge thanks goes out to The Radical for bringing us a great night of laughter, the sponsors for supporting this event, and of course the Shuswap Community for coming out to support the arts!
Musical Swap Meet – Sunday 10th June

The Musical Swap Meet is starting to look like a semi-annual event and the Sunnybrae Community Hall saw another good bunch of musically-minded folks coming in from the rain to check out what was on offer.
From record players, books and amplifiers to vintage acoustic guitars, accordions and wooden percussive instruments, the event saw over 14 tables of musical collections this time around.
People came through the hall from 10-2pm on Sunday 10th June to check out the goods and enjoy a hotdog stand run by the Sunnybrae Community Association. The admission, BBQ and table proceeds were all collected and at the end of the day a grand total of $615.90 was raised for the Second Harvest Foodbank and the Women’s Emergency Shelter (SAFE Society) in Salmon Arm!
A big thanks goes out to Dale Bushy, volunteers of the Sunnybrae Community Association and of course all the folks who turned up to buy/sell/swap all their musical treasures!
Stay tuned for another Musical Swap Meet in the Fall.
