Some great information here provided by Barbra Fairclough, Neighbourhood Emergency Plan (NEP) Coordinator.
For any one who has concern as to response due to a 911 emergency call this information is from the Shuswap Emergency Program.
Recently the South Shuswap First Responders and North Shuswap First Responders (medical response prior to an ambulance arriving) have stated that neither will be responding due to their lack of Personal Protective Equipment. Shuswap Emergency Program advises that BC Ambulance Service will still be responding and residents should continue to use the 911 system to report medical emergencies.
More information will be forth coming but I wanted to get this information out allay anyone’s concerns about response to 911 calls.
